The Bosch 1591EVSK 6.4 Amp Barrel Grip Jigsaw is also a model to consider. It has all the features and benefits of its earlier model. Such as 4 position stroke control with adjustable blower, variable speeds of between 500 and 2,800 strokes per minute with a one touch blade change. Has a hard durable plastic body with a soft grip. Weighs slightly lighter than the Bosch 1590EVSK.
The difference between these two models is the handle. The Bosch 1590 has a top handle jigsaw with a trigger for speed control and has been claimed to be the most precise jigsaws on the market. The Bosch 1591 has a barrel grip. When using it, the tool feels like it is an extension of your hand. It is extremely easy to guide and control when cutting in to wood or steel. This type of handle will suit most ladies with smaller hands. However the Bosch 1591EVSK does not have the same easy to use trigger. Instead the speed dial in on the rear of the tool. Although very easy to get to, it does feel a bit clumsy when you first use it. Particularly if you are use to a trigger switch.
All in all, a great jigsaw.
P. Cirincione wrote:I hate jigsaws, they junp all over the place, the blades are a pain to change, and the cut is crappy. but this saw is amazing. I have owned this saw for two years now and it has completely changed my view of the jigsaw. first it is smooth, so smooth you could call it smoooove.....the variable speed is great and it doesn't jump around at all.
